When I was a thirteen, my grandmother took me to England. One of the things that made a deep impression on me was visiting the Tower of London. Not because it was scary and people were tortured and beheaded there and there were massive displays of medieval weaps. I mean, that was cool and all, but what I really loved were the ravens.

They were trained, and one was walking around with caretaker, who was warning small children to stand back. It was the biggest bird I had ever seen, and it was walking around on its bird legs eyeballing the crowd with its giant beady black bird eye. Of course I loved it.

This printable raven wall art is an homage to that London Raven of 1991, but also to the Edgar Allan Poe poem and Halloween in general, because even though I like ravens because I think they’re cool, they also make for some spooky art.

Here are some tips for printing the most beautiful, highest quality printables possible. It will print best on card stock, and this is designed as an 8×10.

Stick it in a pretty frame and surround it with spooky decor on your mantel, or stick it on your wall. This would also be pretty printed on a pretty textured-look scrapbook paper (something maybe cream-colored) for a classy vintage look.

Here’s a black frame on Amazon – but I buy most of my frames at thrift stores these days.

The text behind the bird is a piece of The Raven poem by Edgar Allan Poe. Which is also something from my teen years…I’m pretty sure my 12th grade English teacher would be happy to know I remember that poem!
