When my son was little, we were determined that he would be exposed to every sort of food and that we would order him interesting and healthy things when we went to restaurants. We looked at children’s menus with dismay and ordered for him off the regular menu when possible. And truth be told, he ate just about everything! That is until he was about three years old. After that, he slammed on the breaks and turned into a majorly picky eater. As for my daughter – no matter what we have tried, she just has never eaten much of anything. Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and macaroni and cheese have kept her alive. When we eat at restaurants, there is about a 50/50 chance that she will not even touch her food. And so, let’s get real. Childen eating at restaurants can be ridiculous. They may eat the food, they may not. It gets expensive, folks. We continue to try to expose them to things, but usually at home where we don’t have to pay for a wasted meal. Thankfully, there are a lot of restaurants out there that can help families save some money when they do want to go out to eat. Here are some places in DFW where kids eat free.

Black-Eyed Pea – Tuesday evening
Arlington
Kids can eat free on Tuesdays after 5 pm with the purchase of an adult entree.

Blue Mesa Grill–  Saturday & Sunday Brunch
Plano, Addison, Fort Worth
On the weekend buffet, kids aged 5 and younger eat free with the purchase of an adult buffet.
Sunday Brunch
9 am – 3 pm at all locations

Cafe Brazil– Sunday-Thursday evening

Kids eat free every Sunday through Thursday from 5- 10 pm with the purchase of an adult entree.

Denny’s– Varies 
Many DFW locations
Kids eat free with adult entree purchase. Offer is valid at participating restaurants for up to two free kid’s entrées from the kid’s menu per one adult entrée purchase of $6.00 or more. One free entrée per kid. Days and participation vary by location, so you will need to check ahead on this one.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – Every day in January, Usually every Sunday.
Multiple DFW Locations
One free kid’s meal with a $10 adult purchase for kids 12 and under. All January.

IHOP– Every evening
Many DFW locations
One free kid’s meal per adult meal purchased every day from 4- 10 pm. Call before you go, because not all locations participate.

Luby’s– Wednesday & Saturday
Many DFW Locations
Kids eat free every Wednesday and Saturday at Luby’s participating locations. The deal is good for kids 12 & under with the purchase of an adult meal.

Luna Grill– Tuesday evening
Multiple DFW Locations
Tuesday evenings from 4 pm to close, kids 10 and under can eat free with an adult purchase of a salad, wrap or plate.

Modern Market – Sunday and Monday evenings
Multiple DFW Locations, BUT not valid at airport or university location
Receive one free kid’s meals with the purchase of one adult entree. Valid Sunday and Monday from 5 p.m. to close. Kids’ meals include your choice of milk or juice.

Roman Cucina – Monday evening
Dallas and Allan Locations
Kids eat free with the purchase of a regular entree. One kid’s meal per entree. Dine-in only.

Steak & Shake – Saturday & Sunday
Multiple DFW Locations
Every Saturday and Sunday, kids 12 and under can get a free kid’s meal for every $9 you spend. The deal does not include a drink or milkshake.
