You know what my favorite kinds of recipes are? Easy ones. Not just any easy ones, though…easy ones that taste amazing and look like they were way more work to prepare than they really were. The recipe I’m going to share with you today is exactly that. This Parma Rosa Tortellini with Italian Sausage is super easy to pull together, but it’s full of amazing flavors and feels extra fancy!
Parma Rosa Tortellini with Italian Sausage
This is the perfect dinner for a date night at home, or when you want to make something hearty the whole family will love. It makes a pretty large amount of pasta goodness, so if it is just you and your special someone have no fear – you’re going to get some amazing leftovers with this recipe!
This recipe uses Bertolli® Traditional Marinara Sauce and Bertolli Alfredo with Aged Parmesan Cheese. Bertolli is the only pasta sauce brand made the Tuscan way, cooked lightly with olive oil. It also makes it really, really easy to throw together a delicious dinner like this one.
Here’s what you need to make this Parma Rosa Tortellini with Italian Sausage:
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 bell pepper
1 red onion
4 large cloves of garlic
16 oz uncooked tortellini
16 oz ground Italian sausage
24 oz jar Bertolli® Traditional Marinara Sauce
15 oz jar Bertolli® Alfredo with Aged Parmesan Cheese
1 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
What is Rosa Sauce?
Rosa sauce is a red sauce with cream, giving it a lighter color than traditional red sauce and also a different flavor profile. While you can make it from scratch, I made it the easy way – by combining a jar of Bertolli Marinara with a jar of Bertolli Alfredo.
Seriously – all you’ve got to do is mix them together!
To add to the cheesy deliciousness, you’ll want sprinkle parmesan over the top of the skillet and stick it unde the broiler for a few minutes. This is optional but totally worth it. Just look at that pretty cheese!
Garnish with more parmesan and your chopped basil.
You can easily adjust this recipe to suit your tastes. If you leave out the meat or swap veggies, it will still be great! Another option is to add mushrooms.
Serve with a big hunk of crusty sourdough bread to soak up all that extra sauce! Pasta + Bread = My Love Language.
Enjoy. And don’t forget to come back for seconds!
