Gift Ideas for 5-Year-Old Girls

I like shopping for little girls. It’s fun, and, in the case of my child, it’s also super easy. But over the last year or so, we’ve really pared down all the junk in the kids’ rooms so that they only have things they actually play with and use. I told my son to go play in his room the other day, and he even said, “But we don’t have any toys anymore! You got rid of it all!”

I would disagree. There is still PLENTY of stuff for them to play with. But it’s true that we got rid of lots of junk, and that we’ve been intentional about what we buying (well…mostly intentional. I would toss all the Pokemon cards in one second if I could, but…they bring great joy, so, we keep them).

This post contains affiliate links. I received samples from The Children’s Place and Hasbro.

This is a list of gift ideas for five-year-old girls…most of these ideas are things we already have and value (and want to keep around). I threw in a few hot toy items, too, because I remember getting the My Little Pony Dream Castle when I was a kid and how much joy it brought me (I’m sure my dad would disagree as he had to put it together, and my mom probably hated it every time she stepped on a piece of it, but…I loved it so very much!).

Gift Ideas for Five-Year-Old Girls

  • Sparkle Boots from The Children’s Place – I mean, really…sparkle boots, y’all. Claire has some pink ones that I’ve been hiding from her that I’ll give her for Christmas. She is going to love them. Because SPARKLE BOOTS. We also have a really cute dress from The Children’s Place waiting for her as well. She loves clothes!
  • The Marvelous Book of Magical Horses – We have this book, and I mostly bought it because I wanted it (true story). It’s lots of fun, and has a bunch of papr doll horses that you can dress up. t does have a lot of pieces, though, so make sure you have a baggie ready to store them all in!
  • Scientific Explorer My First Mind Blowing Science Kit – This says it’s for kids 6+ with adult supervision, but I think that if you have a science-loving five-year-old, you’ll be fine…as long as you’re around to help!
  • My Little Pony Equestria Friendship Express Train – My Little Pony and a TRAIN! Princess Twilight Sparkle is traveling in style with this toy!
  • Strider Bike – Both of my kids learned to ride bikes starting on a Strider Bike! This geared towards kids 18 months-5 years, but if your five-year-old isn’t ready for a pedal bike…I absolutely recommend this to get her going.
  • Toddler Alarm Clock – Your five-year-old is past toddler age, but might be ready to read a clock yet. These make great “learner clocks” – and can even help kids stay in bed longer!
  • Art kit – Art kits can inspire creativity, keep kids busy, and provide hours of fun. This mini sketch book is a perfect addition to the art kit, and is great for creating on-the-go.
  • Piggy Paint – This non-toxic nail polish for kids is a safer alternative to “grown-up” nail polish. It comes in lots of fun colors, too.
  • Shopkins Toy Organizer – To be honest, you might consider this more of a gift for yourself! You can even fill it with this collection of Shopkins.
  • Breyer Model Horses – Model horses are always fun, but Breyer is known for its quality and realistic models.
  • Rey – Does your daughter love Star Wars? If so, she’ll love this Rey and BB-8 toy!
  • Minecraft Baby Pig Plush toy – We have some serious Minecraft love going on in this house. I adore this plush Minecraft baby pig!
